Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010 marked the 1st All Berywn Committee of the year. Candidates running state-wide for office were invited to come talk to the public of Berwyn. Due to conflicts only two candidates were able to come speak.
The first candidate was Robert C. Grota running for Cook County Assesor and the second was Scott K. Summers running for Illinois State Treasurer. Both candidates are running for the Green Party. Elections are set to take place in November.
Other happenings at the meeting included introducing the new committee members and swearing them in. Eight members were sworn into the board of directors. Overall, the committee has 49 individuals involved and 10 organizations.
The committee meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at Berwyn City Hall. All meetings are open to the public.
