From 3:30p.m to 7 p.m. on Friday Oct.29, Thumbuddy Special is hosting their fall happy hour at Liberty Cultural Center in Berwyn to raise money for adaptive equipment they donate to children with disabilities. Three children will receive specially made bike.
Thumbuddy Special’s mission is that all children have the right to live to their maximum ability. The non-profit organization purchases adaptive equipment such as: bikes, wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, ramps and lifts and adaptive computers. They also sponsor Special Recreation summer camps.
With conventional government grants and insurance underwriting, receiving high-tech equipment for children with disabilities is difficult. Thumbuddy Special strives to help these families in need.
A $25 donation is asked for entry to the event, which will include pizza, beer, house wine and pop. There will also be raffles and prizes.
To purchase ticked contact Julia Bauers or Mary Ellen Connelly at 708-692-2846 or 630-212-3419.
