Nearly $1 million of marijuana seized in Berwyn

Over the course of Oct. 31 through Nov.1, the Berwyn Police Department Investigative Division led a joint investigation with the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area,  Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart and the Sheriff’s Police Department  to execute four separate search warrants in which marijuana was recovered at all four  locations.

Sgt. Michael R. Ochsner, Jr. of the Berwn Police Department said the marijuana recovered included locating two extensive growing operations and two storage facilities resulting in the recovery  of many dozen plants and manufactured cannabis.

“The Recovered illegal drugs had a street value of approximately $800,000,” Oschner said.

The Berwyn Police Department and HIDTA continue to progress in this wide ranging investigation and anticipate bringing forth criminal charges against multiple suspects.

Mayor Robert J. Lovero along with Police Chief James Ritz and Deputy Police Chief Joseph Drury posed with evidence recovered.
